Puppets, Roadtrip, and Moving
August 21 - September 2:
Last week Calvin and I worked a lot on our puppets. Every time I thought we were done with the puppets, Calvin had come up with three more ideas on crazy things he could add to his puppet. We added a tail, wings, and horns to his puppet. After going to Goodwill to get some baby clothes for the puppets, we finished them! I loved working on this project with Calvin this summer.
Thursday morning I got breakfast with Norma at one of my favorite cafes in Grand Haven. It was so lovely catching up with her before I headed back to school. Afterward, I found myself walking around an antique store that I’ve always wanted to go to. They had many fun things to look at! I spent the evening getting dinner with Kaelee and watching the sunset on Lake Michigan.
I spent the rest of the week spending time with family and packing up to move back to school.
Jacob and I drove to Rhode Island on Thursday and arrived late in the evening. Friday we explored Newport and then took the scenic route up to Boston to meet up with my friends Sophia and Pickle. Sophia had just moved into MIT for grad school so we checked out her place and spent the evening with both of them. It was so lovely seeing both of them and I’m so excited to be closer to them this year.
On Sunday we moved my stuff into my new apartment. Jacob was such a nice help to have and made things go by so much quicker. I spent the rest of the day just unpacking and getting settled in. This year I’m living with Livia in an apartment-style dorm. We each have our own rooms and then we share a living/dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. I’m so excited to finally have a bit more space in my dorm.
I took Jacob to the airport early Monday morning and spent the morning unpacking and getting ready for Livia to arrive. Once she and Millie were all moved into their spaces we all had some dinner together with their families at one of our favorite restaurants, Den Den’s. It’s a yummy little Korean place.
I’m really excited about the new school year and what it has in store for me. I start class on Wednesday, so for now I’m just continuing to get settled in.
Hope you have a good week!
