Traverse City, Good Hart, and Mackinac Island
Emma, Olyvia, and I took a little girl’s trip up north this week! We started bright and early on Tuesday and started the trek north. We stopped in Manistee, Frankfort, Charlevoix, and Traverse City on our way to Carp Lake. I showed the girls some of my favorite spots up north, Point Betsie Lighthouse, Wilson’s Antiques, and Folgarellis Sandwich shop. We stayed at a cute little Airbnb on Carp Lake, just 15 min south of Mackinaw City. The first night we cooked some dinner and hung out in the hot tub.
Wednesday morning we drove over to Good Hart for breakfast and to explore the town a bit. Emma vacationed in Good Hart growing up so she showed us some of her favorite thrift stores and spots around town. We spent the afternoon at Petoskey State Park lying in the sun, reading, and looking for Petoskey stones. We spent the evening cooking dinner together, playing cards, and hanging out in the hot tub.
Thursday morning we made some breakfast and coffee before heading to Mackinac Island for the day. We took the ferry over and then explored the island. I made dresses for us out of vintage tablecloths to wear on the island. First stop was some coffee and then we walked around the main street and popped into some stores to look around. We walked over to The Grand Hotel before grabbing some lunch and hanging out at the beach for a bit. We took the ferry back to Mackinaw City and went to my favorite Pastie place to get some pasties for dinner.
We drove back home early Friday morning, but it was a lovely trip together before we all go back to school.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday I was dog and house sitting for a family I used to nanny for. I spent my weekend just watching and playing with the dogs and working on my tapestry.
Hope you have a good week!
